After replacing the release bearing the clutch release rod is not returning to original position. The clutch doesnt seem to slip, but we have to start car in gear in order to drive. The clutch pedal is sitting next to the floor.

Do we need to replace the whole clutch?

Just follow the clutch cable and you will find the other end. The end is where the release lever should be. If you need a diagram send me an e-mail at underthecarguy@aol. Com with the size 4 cyl you have.
