I have a 1995 VW Jetta III GL, Automatic 2.0 and I'm about to sell it. The transmission's been acting up lately, i.E. Shifting hard with high revs. I found an automatic transmission for $250 for a 1994 Jetta. Would this be compatible? I want to make sure it runs well for the guy I'm selling it to. He's aware of the issue. Thanks.

It may be compatable but you would need the entire car so you can change computers and all the linkage and more. If it were me I wouldn't do it I would find another manual trans so there would not be any electrical stuff to deal with.

It's already an Automatic. Convert from auto to manual?

That wasn't mentioned in the first reply. If it was already an auto trans then just make sure you get everything needed cables and shifter and shifter linkage and so on. Thanks.
