what happens if water accidentally enters to carburetor?

Hi there,

This will depend on how much has entered, if only a small amount say a small spoon full, the engine would probably miss a little run rough then clear it self, if it a large amount was to enter say a small cup full this would certainly be enough to do serious damage to the engine, this is call a hydraulic lock as water is not compressible, if a given amount enters the engine it will not compress and if the engine is at speed something will bend or break, i have bent rods from compression locked engines, this is not a good thing.
