1996 Volkswagen Golf Oil pan gasket replacement

Is replacing the pan gasket difficult? It looks like the pan might not drop right down. Also what about the oil pickup?
Any gotcha's on this before I attempt it?

What engine size? 1.9L, 1.8L etc.

K, the pan should drop down with not much trouble and no need to remove any other components
