1993 Volkswagen Golf 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I would like to know the easiest way to replace the front wheel pads of my VW Automatic GOLF 3.

Hello and thanks for the donation!

Remove the bolts securing caliper to the wheel bearing housing
Swing the caliper out from the bottom to top
Support the caliper with some wiring (do NOT allow caliper to hang by brake hose)
Remove the brake pad retaining springs and brake pads

Push piston into caliper
Install inner brake pad and pad retaining springs on wheel bearing housing
Install the outer brake pad
Install brake caliper only as far as necessary to start the bolts
Tighten the caliper mounting bolts to 18 Ft. Lbs. (25 Nm)
Depress brake pedal firmly several times to seat the brake pads in their normal operating position
Refill the reservoir only to the MAX mark
