1992 Volkswagen Golf Two Wheel Drive Manual 210000 miles

My clutch pedal had been quite low to the floor and was battling to get into 1st and reverse gears, then on Tuesday on my way to work the pedal was pushed right to the floor and I was unable to change gears, it seems as though the clutch cable has come through the firewall because of the grommets perishing, please avdise what you would think the probelm might be as I have had numerous guesses

Pressure plate needs to be replaced and if the flywheel is a LUK make for mexico your gonna have to replace both, eg, pressure plate / flywheel. U can pick up a clutch kit and it should come with all the piece to fix ur problem. I own the exact car and wasted 80 buying a new cable nothin happen, now its to the flywheel pressure bearing and pressure plate. Good luck hope it helps
