Engine Cooling problem
2002 Volkswagen Cabrio 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

2002 VW Cabriolet cooling fan does not operate. I have no wiring diagram but it looks like it has a 2-speed fan which is undoubtedly controlled by a temp sensor. It looks like the temp sensor screws into the radiator. I've checked for voltage at the fan connector when the car is hot enough to enable the fan; no voltage present. 1. Sound familiar? 2. Does the sensor wire directly to the fan or does it go through some control module of some sort. Would like to have wiring diagram, do you possibly have one I can download? You're my best hope, don't want to have to go to the dealer.

Hello
Thanks for the donation

If the sensor is not sending message to the computer then there will be no volts at the fan connector. Sounds like a faulty coolant temperature sensor to me.

I have below the diagram you have asked for.

It was the temp sensor. I found a wiring diagram online, with it I was able to troubleshoot. Thanks.
