2000 Volkswagen Beetle abs light on all the time

Helo have just bought a vw beetle drove it 100mls home with this light on and when in park it the engine is raciing
someone who is not a mechanic but knows about cars said they would have a look at it will I need to get a manual as there isnt one with the car
The guy I bought it from said the brakes were fine

There will be codes in the ABS computer, you have to get those first then repost. Also get codes from the Engine computer.
