Engine Performance problem
1999 Volkswagen Beetle Manual

My Beetle misses a beat on idling also when changing gear it loses revs also if you put you foot on the eccelerater to overtake it loses revs. Can you suggest a remedy as my car is in Spain at the moment.

It may be ignition related or fuel related problems do you have a check engine light on?

Thanks for your reply, I do not have any warning light showing. Cou;d it be spark plug problem or leads?

If it was a spark plug or a wire, you would have an engine light on with the code of misfire, I believe I would check the fuel pressure first, low fuel pressure or a plugged up fuel filter will not set an engine code. And the vehicle will act exactly as you are describing.
