I just purchased a 1972 super beetle, but the wheels are locked. I put the auto in neutral and released the emergency brake. Wont move. I pushed the clutch pedal down and had someone try to push the car, it would not move. The car has been in a indoor storage for about 4 years. Is this a brake problem or could it be a transmission problem. And whar can I do to fix this problem?

Hi there,

This sounds as if the brakes have locked up, I would back off the brake adjusters, and with the wheels removed give the drums a good hit all around with a heavy hammer, use safety goggles and remember use stands as well, also don't belt the living daylights out of the drums, just hit them hard enough to help unbind them from the shoes, try this first.
