1971 Volkswagen Beetle intake manifold boot replacement

I have been advised to replace the intake manifold boots on my car to eliminate an engine miss. Is there an easy way to do this?

I think you could remove the carb, loosen the center part of the manifold and slip a boot in. You'd have to get the heat risers loose, and those bolts sometimes are rusty, so I wouldn't count on it being easy.
