1999 Vauxhall Vectra engine sometimes cuts out

When im reversing, eg out of my driveway and I put the clutch back in, the engine sounds like it is going to cut out, and sometimes it does. Also when I start the engine the sound drops like it will cut out but it doesnt, but other than this it drives ok. What do you think this could be

Start by having the vehicle serviced. Check/replace filters/spark plugs/wires/coils etc. Etc.

I myself had this problem not so long ago I changed all filters and put new oil in only to find out that my airflow censor was causing the problem.
