iv have a load rattle in my engine and iv taken it to a garage to have it looked at and they just started the engine and told me it was the crank and ill need a new engine, but I wanted a second opinion because he didnt even look at it.
if it is the crank can it be repaired or do I need a new engine?

Cranks can be replaced, id take it into another place and have a second oppinion, lots of things can be wrong if it has a rattle when the engine is running.
