I bought the truck listed above, I'm trying to get it back running for my son and I'm racking my brain looking for vacuum lines. Is there anywhere I can look that can give me a diagram of where all of them should be?

My biggest problem is idle. I replaced the plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap, and IAC. But it still idles at around 1,200 RPMs. Sometimes you can bump three throttle and it'll drop down to about 700 but not all the time. Any help at all with both of these would be awesome! Thanks in advance, guys!

Hi,

If you suspect there is a vacuum leak, here is a link that you may find helpful in locating and repairing a leak:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-use-an-engine-vacuum-gauge

Next, I attached the vacuum schematics that I have. Pic 1 below shows the emissions vacuum hoses and pic 2 provides the HVAC vacuum schematic.

Let me know if this helps or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

See pics below. Also, there is usually a label under the hood showing the vacuum schematic. Check there as well

Thank you so much, brother. I couldn’t find that anywhere. Do you happen to have any idea where I should even start looking on that idle problem?

Hi,

You are very welcome. As far as a starting point, check the hoses attached to the intake manifold. Also, I would suggest using something like carburetor cleaner as mentioned in the link I attached above. That can be extremely helpful.

Take care and let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Joe
