Typical main circuits:

Brake booster: large hose from intake manifold - booster (with one-way check valve)

EVAP purge: intake manifold vacuum - purge solenoid - line to charcoal canister/tank

EGR control (if equipped on your emissions package): vacuum supply - EVR solenoid - EGR valve (plus DPFE sensor hoses on the EGR tube). Ford does not give this diagram for the 4.2 to the aftermarket sector. Sorry. You might want to try a Chilton book manual.
