Upper ball joints and upper control arms

I'm having trouble getting the upper ball joint, Moog is the manufacturer of the ball joint, to fit into the control arm. The ball joint has teeth or grooves around it and the control arm does not. Is that a problem?

There does not need to be splines in the arm. It is a press-fit into the control arm.
