When I go to put my car in drive the engine shuts itself off and goes into no drive mode. I can put the car in reverse and neutral, no problem.

Can we do a couple things first? Let's check the codes and find out what is there.

Second, can you provide the last 8 of your VIN so that I can see how the vehicle is equipped? I have heard of these issues happening, but it depends on what transmission you have so let's start with the codes and your VIN.

If this is the dual dry clutch transmission, then I suspect the clutch has failed and will need to be replaced.

Also, there is a flash available that will address some things like this as well. So, if you have not been to a dealer in a while, we may want to try that before we start pulling the transmission out of the vehicle.

Let me know these two things and we can go from there.

Thanks

Thank you for getting back with me man, but I actually found out what the issue was. The dealership I bought the car from put in a used Gear Shift Box and it went out. So, now we’re in the process of getting that fixed. I’m happy it wasn’t the transmission.

Got it. Thanks for the update on that. I assume the shift box was the control module for the transmission.

If that is the case, that makes perfect sense. Thanks again for using 2CarPros and coming back to update us.
