I took the under dash off to repair it, replace blower motor etc, and discovered lots of parts I don't recognize. I need some kind of parts breakdown (IPB) or schematic because the Haynes manual is too vague.
I'm not good with wires/electrical equipment but I can read the diagrams no problem.
Advice? Help? Resources?

Hi,

I can help with getting the diagrams from the OEM site but need a little more detail as to what you are looking for.

The best thing I can think to do, is have you take a few pictures of the components you are looking for. I am sure I can recognize them and those that I can't I will look up.

Once we know what you need information on, I can easily look that up. Thanks

Thank you! I'm looking mostly to find out what these electrical plug and that black box. Also would love to learn what's wrong with the air selector. But electrics first please!
These wire bundles just fell when I got the under dash off.

The first picture attached below where I circled the connector on the left, is you data link connector. This is what you plug your scan tool into in order to communicate with the vehicle.

As for the black box, I can't place that. It looks like a factory wiring harness so I don't think it is an aftermarket part but again, I can't place it. Is there a part number or any number on the box itself?

Worst case we can just unplug it and see what doesn't work or what codes it sets and that will tell us what it is. However, you only want to do this if you can clear the codes. It won't hurt anything because once you plug it back in and cycle the key all the codes will go stored but lets see if there are number on it first. Thanks

Awesome! Under the tape on the black box has a few numbers and says "intermittent pulse wipe control". I can make a guess, but I'd rather know for sure; also looks like it should plug into something.

That is great. I suspected but like you, I didn't want to guess. However, that is the intermittent wiper control module. Basically, it is a timer module that when you put the switch in intermittent position, it causes the delay in the wiper function.

Here is some more detail about it and where it should be mounted. Also, the DLC should have a clip on the left side of the steering wheel under the dash. It should not be hanging down like that.

Thank you so much! Somebody pulled the dash before I ever got the truck; most of the mounting places and the bar behind the glove box, even the venting are loose or missing. Wish me luck!

Oh boy. Those are the worst things to try to figure out. At least when you take it apart, it starts to come back to you when you start to put it back together. When you didn't take it apart, it can get very frustrating.

Thanks for using 2CarPros.
