When fuel pump went out last time, I could turn key on and not hear fuel pump running, was on hwy going 65, 15 miles before I got 20 in gas at Race Trac, doing 65 and it just died, no spudding like gas filter cloged, just died, came to Stop turned key on and could hear fuel pump turn on and run it turns over fast and almost starts, few times it did for only 5 seconds. This motor was a brand new motor bought and put in from the chevrolet dealership, does not burn or leak oil and new motor has 60,000 on it, have had some electrical problems, no major problems with that, fuel pump dont sound any different from the day it was put in new, I am an older lady 55 only get SSi, and no family men to help me this this time, Idid check fuses in box where motor at, there is another fuse box drivers side under dash, but those fuses are 15 or 20, no big amps like ones under hood, I do have tools, and I could fix my cars from shade tree days, to much on motors nowdays for me to mess with, cost 500 to do fuel pump a there was a new indential filter put on pump when we put pump it, please, please, give me some good cheap news, thank you and have a safe and blessed day

If yo have a different key try that because it may be the diode in key problem. Then have fuel pressure checked should be 60-66 psi. Kind of sounds like what the problem is.
