I recently bought this car. I am having problems with my blinkers hazard lights and speedometer working erratically. I have taken apart the cluster panel checked for possible issues that other owners have had with the same vehicle through YouTube and the internet. I have checked the fuses underneath the steering wheel. The issue I have can be sometimes corrected by smacking the top of my dashboard it will turn on the blinkers when not working or will get the speedometer working again if it stops. I feel that it has to be a short or bad ground wire but I know nothing about wiring and everything. I am learning at the moment is self-taught. I do not have a problem working on my vehicle but I need help. Please does someone have some suggestions that I may use in solving this problem? Also, I would like to add that when cleaning out the vehicle I found some stuff from Ohio so that means that there is a lot of rust damage in my vehicle if that has anything to do with it. Thank you for any help given.

Hello,

Yes, it sounds like you have a cluster that is going bad because of a cold or overheated solder joint. I would try to replace the cluster will a used one to see what happens.

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Cheers, Ken
