Starts but turbo wont kick in

Endless starting issues; starts but turbo will not kick in. I tried checking all valves and vacuum solenoid. The only way I can get it to start is by removing vacuum pipe from turbo. Checked throttle body valve. Also smoke when revving. Done pedal test actuator sticking.

Hello Bev,

This is a classic case of the turbo being worn out. Remove the turbo to see if the impeller is loose in the housing showing you the bearings are worn out. This is a common problem.
