There must be something wrong since you keep having issues, I would replace the latch anyway since nothing else works. Is the weather stripping sticky like the rubber is degrading?

No but I noticed there were grease marks on the rubber border of the trunk where the grommets align. I already went to the dealer over 4x and they ran a bunch of tests and looked at the actuator, latch, etc and couldn’t replicate the issue and it’s intermittent which drives me crazy

Yep, it sounds like there are missing something. I would try the latch because if it doesn't fully release sometimes it will cause this issue.

I’m just sick of going and they say they can’t replicate the issue. They Claimed to test the latch and everything u can read the dealer info I previously submitted as well if you’d like. It’s honestly so frustrating when I went to two different dealers with undiagnosed issue. They told me previously at the first dealer that if it continued after they took the harness apart and tested the circuits and latch and basically the entire trunk assembly that they’d have to open a tech case with the manufacturer and have to keep my car at The dealer. It’s just been a headache

Yep, intermittent problem are tough to find to say the least especially when it does not malfunction at the time of service and you have no codes in the CAN BUS system.
