I also had my fuel pressure checked and that good my truck won't start if the check engine light is not on. I also replaced the alternator. I know my truck runs because last Thursday and Friday I drove it Saturday and Sunday every time I try to drive it, it stalled out on me and wouldn't start for a few hours then I would restart installing in.

Hi,

The idea that it won't start when warm and required to sit for a few hours leads me to think it could be a faulty crankshaft position sensor. When they begin to fail, heat affects them

Do me a favor. Take a look through this link. It covers the most common symptoms related to a faulty sensor. See if it mirrors what you experience.

Let me know.

Joe

Okay, I have another question how many volts should my ECM be putting out? Because one of the wiring harness was doing five. 5 V and the other side was doing 12. 5 V I had no spark when testing the coil so I'm thinking that's what it is but once I replace the ECM plug into the ECM my truck turned on and do I need a harness for the 59 motor Orwells a harness for their original five to work.

Hi,

You are very welcome. Let me know if that takes care of the problem. Also, I attached directions below for replacement. I don't know if you need them or not, so I figured I would add them.

Take care,

Joe
