My truck is Lv6 with 210,000 miles on it. Sometimes will start rough or not start at all until I clear the fuel rail, it only happens when I shut it off and try to restart it. Shortly after replaced injectors it starts no problem. In the morning a little chugging until the engine warms up then it runs fine, but I have also noticed it does not like steep hills. I have replaced the fuel pump and filter. I am thinking it might be an engine sensor or clogged catalytic converters and bad o2s. Any ideas would be great.

Do you ever have to hold the gas pedal to the floor to start it?

The truck will crank over and start then stall if I do not give it gas. When I do the engine revs up and I have to give it gas for a few minutes usually about a grand in rpm's then it is good to go. It only happens when I try to restart it when the engine is warm.

Have you checked to see if there are any codes in the computer? Or if the fuel pressure is bleeding down?

Just because something is fairly new does not mean it is good. I have seen new parts out of the box bad. Also some new parts only last a short time anything is possible.

I get that, just saying you cannot depend on new parts not failing it happens even right out the box. That is the world we live in it is getting more common.

I'm wondering if the mass air flow sensor can be dirty causing a logic imbalance. Here is a guide to show you how to clean it.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/mass-air-flow-service

Also a vacuum leak can cause this kind of problem as well.

Please let us know what you find so it will help others.

Best, Ken

Other than the stupid problem my truck seems to run just fine considering the millage 210,000 it does have leaky valve guides seals so when it's on an incline parked while running it will smoke a little but it doesn't burn barley any oil could that be related I just add the oil additive to stop it from leaking eveRyan oil change and it works

I'm wondering if the spark plugs condition could be an issue, can you remove a couple random ones and snap a pic of the electrodes and post them please?
