While I was driving my vehicle ( going about twenty five miles per hours} I went to turn on the wipers and my hand hit the shift instead. It pushed the shift from drive to neutral. The vehicle jerked suddenly and when I put it back to drive it would not engage and move forward. I do not know if I hit the shifter hard enough to push it partly into reverse. When in drive, the engine just revs and has no forward motion. In second and first it also revs but has a little forward motion. Did I ruin my transmission?

It sounds like you broken a CV axle. Here is what I want you to check. Have someone sit in the car and start it, then put the car in drive and while using a flashlight carefully check to see if one of the axles is turning. It is common for a CV axle to break at the outer. CV joint.

Please let us know what happens.

Cheers, Ken
