Good afternoon.

If you mean the speed sensor for the speedometer, it is located under the car where the right side axle goes into the trans-axle. It is held by a single bolt and a wire connector.

Roy

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect electrical connector from sensor.
2. Remove the sensor mounting bolt.
3. Lift the sensor out of the trans-axle extension housing. Ensure the 0-ring was removed with the sensor.

NOTE: The speed sensor gear meshes with a gear on the output shaft.

INSTALLATION
1. With 0-ring in place, install sensor and seat sensor by hand -- to ensure proper gear engagement.
2. Install mounting bolt and torque bolt to 2.2 Nm (20 in lb).
3. Connect electrical connector to sensor.

Many thanks for your reply Roy.

Just confirming though, is it located at the driver's side and is the location diagram specific to 1998 Dodge Neon 2.0 SOHC?

Pardon my ignorance.

Regards.

No, as I stated it is on the passenger side where the passenger side axle goes into the transmission.
