Transmission range selector lever cable terminal

How do you disconnect the mechanical connection/fastener of the transmission range selector lever cable terminal from the transmission manual shift lever pin? I see no nut, screw, pin, or clip holding it on the transmission manual shift lever pin.

The photo is taken from the driver's side right below stick shift. I'm pointing to the connector of the cable. I do not see how it is mechanically connected and I do not wish to damage it in removal. Thank you very much for your help and I look forward to your response.

Is this the connection? There should be a retainer clip holding the cable attached.
