So I replaced all my spark plugs in my car listed above SXT and had issues with the intake control valve it broke replaced it. While doing all this I realized I had a leak from my transmission. I have put quite a lot fluid in it. Now my oil light comes on and so does the ESP and traction control. Could my transmission fluid be leaking on my control arms and causing my traction to mess up also or is there more wrong with my car? Thank you in advance.

Hi,

When you say the oil light is on, are you referring to the engine oil light? If so, check to make sure by accident you didn't disconnect the oil pressure switch when you were working.

See pic 1 for oil pressure switch location.

As far as the transmission leak, it could be coming from one of the cooling lines and you see it leaking on or near a control arm. However, I don't see how that could cause the traction control or ESP to fail. Chances are that issue is related to a bad wheel sensor.

Did these things happen right after you replaced the plugs? Also, have you checked for diagnostic trouble codes? If not, I would first scan the computer to see what codes are stored. Here is a quick video showing how it's done:

I realize most people don't own a scanner, but most parts stores will do it free of charge. Do that and let me know what codes are found.

Let me know what you find with the oil pressure switch. Also, if you have other questions, let me know.

Joe
