I am wondering how much transmission oil I need to properly fill my transmission after a fluid change and drain? I have seen the "full capacity oil change" and "service oil change" capacities. Full oil change is like ten quarts and service change is like two quarts. I need help.

Hello,

Your vehicle is equipped with a A340E/F transmission.

To drain transmission oil.

Remove drain plug and drain fluid.
Install drain plug. Tighten drain plug to specification. 15 Lb. Ft/20Nm.
Caution: Do not overfill transmission.

With engine Off, add new fluid through oil filler pipe up to cool level on dipstick.. See Recommended Fluids and Fluid Capacities. Image below
With engine idling and parking brake applied, shift the shift lever into all positions from "P" to "L" position and return to "P" position.
With engine idling, check fluid level.
Add fluid up to cool level on the dip stick.
Check fluid level at normal operating temperature of 158-176°F (70-80°C) and add as necessary.
Check for transmission fluid leaks. If there are leaks, repair as necessary.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Boris
