Transmission, no overdrive

So, I found the OD spring c clip is broken, I can fix that part. What I can't figure out is. I had a plunger looking part (white) came out of the transmission pan. 290,000 miles.

Hi,

That is nothing to worry about. When the vehicle is being built, that is simply a plug that goes where the transmission dip stick will go. It prevents contamination in the transmission.

Interestingly, if that is the original transmission with that many miles, it has likely never been serviced. All I can say is wow! LOL
