Hey, how are you guy's? I have a question about my truck. When I take off from a stop or as I merge onto an interstate if I push the accelerator mild to firmly the transmission shifts gears quickly, to the point of where it kind of bogs down the engine. So I was wondering if it is something that requires like a transmission overhaul given the miles on it or maybe something dealing with the valve body or something. I would appreciate any advice you would have on this matter. Thanks, Jason

Good morning.

Have your throttle position sensor checked. That is the sensor that controls shift points. It should have a smooth sweep from zero to five volts.

Beyond that, it could be valve body. Before assuming it may need an overhaul I would change the transmission oil and filter first.

Alright, the TPS was replaced last year for low reading, but I will check it again. I replace transmission fluid around every 30,000 miles and it has been 8,000 since last change, so that being said, do you think I should get a diagnostic on transmission if TPI is fine?

Check the TPS voltage. Even though it is a year old, it can still be bad.
