There is a bad rattle coming from bottom of transmission pan. I am fixing to drop the transmission pan to change the filter and clean out what is rattling in the bottom of pan. Question is, should I use ATF full synthetic or regular transmission fluid back in my Jeep? I keep getting told if I use synthetic it is better for my transmission. What would you use?

Good morning,

I posted below what fluid is recommended for your Jeep.

You could change to synthetic but the issue is you must do complete exchange as you should not mix regular with synthetic.

The torque converter holds about six quarts. You would need an exchange machine to complete this task if you have one.

I would just stick with the recommended fluid.
