Hello everybody thank you in advance and I hope you're having a good Wednesday.

My vehicle has been sitting in the driveway for at least a week now, I was intending on changing spark plugs, crankshaft sensor, and one ignition coil.

I changed my spark plugs today, and I looked under the car to see a massive liquid spot! Two different spots, it came up pink so I know it's transmission fluid. It actually appears to be a gnarly leak, it looks really wet on the pain and on some pipes down there. There's also another spot closer to the front of the vehicle.

I was not awake of any transmission fluid leaks when I parked it there, and like I said I haven't started it or driven it. Why all of a sudden did it start to leak and what can I do to investigate further/fix it?

Thank you so much! You guys are my car and wallet savers, I appreciate this website greatly.

I attached a video I shot under the vehicle, hopefully it is okay an okay view. Let me know if you want a clearer shot.

More than likely the pan gasket dried out and cracked while it was sitting and it now leaking. Or it was leaking prior and you just never noticed it. Either way, I would just perform a service on it and replace the gasket while you are doing it to "kill to birds with one stone."

Clearly a leak is only going to get worse so I would go ahead and address it now.

Awesome, thank you so much! Now when you say kill two birds one stone, you are referring to replacing the pan gasket and what other part?

Thank you kind Sir!

Since you have to take the pan off to do the gasket you should put a new filter and then obviously new fluid. Just doing a transmission service is all I meant.

You are welcome. Please let us know if you have more questions.

Okay, so one quick thing. I am having a hard time finding a transmission filter. Could you send me a link to one that would fit for my vehicle? 2005 Sport 3.7 L V6
The only ones I am finding are in a kit with a gasket, I already ordered the gasket so I just need a filter but can't seem to find one. Thank you

The Mopar Part number is 52852913AB. This is for just the filter for a 42RLE.

Thank you I definitely will. And yes Sir I am in the US!
Would this filter work? I don't see that specific part number you gave me, but it says it will fit. I foolishly ordered the gasket first and without a filter. It seems like it's common they come as a set, now I just need the filter and struggling to find the filter alone. Rockauto has both filter and gasket for $9.00, but I figure that might be cheap? What do you think about this one?

Looks like it would fit. The one from RockAuto I'm sure would be fine because even though it is cheap, there is not much they could get wrong. However, if you only need a filter, I would just go with the one you have in this link.
