I have a bad front left CV shaft it has been clicking, I'm missing a front right ABS wheel speed sensor.
Yesterday in a right-hand curve the car's transmission fault light came on and told me to put it in park. I did that and the car wouldn't move. Would a broken or displaced CV joint cause this? I have the new one I'm going to change it today and I have the sensor for the right side as well.

The car runs A1, Before this no transmission issues nothing
No lights in the dash, now I have a check engine the abs and the trans fault light

Hi,

If the CV joint is broken, it will cause the vehicle not to move. Tell me, when you place it in park, does the vehicle move like it is in neutral?

Also, what model is the vehicle? Let me know so I can get you directions and torque specs for replacing the half shaft. Also, the axle nut needs to be torqued prior to placing weight on it. Have a helper hold his foot on the brake while you do this. Once torqued, then you can place the weight on it.

Let me know.

Take care,

Joe
