Transmission electrical connector

I recently had a few repairs on my car and in the process the guy broke the transmission bulk head pinout electrical connector clip that keeps it secure. There does not seem to be much information on this item that I can find and I do not have a manual on it. Such as can I replace it with a used one, do I have to put in a new one, can it be wired shut? Is there any advice you can give me? I believe it is the right name. It is the electrical plug that plugs into the top of transmission.

Can you upload a picture or video? I want to see if it is the neutral control switch you are talking about or something else.

If the lock tab is broken on the connector you could try finding the connector at a junk yard. Cut off the wires and take that part to your mechanic where he can remove the pins out one at a time and slide the electrical pins back to the new connector. The only other way would be is to see if Ford has hit which I don't think they will. If they still make parts for it they may try and sell you the whole engine harness.

Another thing you can try is to have him tie strap the connector harness somewhere around the transmission so it wont move and dab just a little silicone where the lock tab was and connect it back and see if that helps also. Good luck and let us know what you did to fix it.
