Hi,

I have the car listed above (base). The car seems fine overall except the transmission does not engage. The gear shift moves fine, but the car does not go in either forward or reverse. I ran a new scan on the ODB and it gives me two codes for door locks. No transmission error codes at all. Engine is strong. Before clearing the prior codes I ran an OBD scan, which reported a lot more. I cleared the original scan as the car had been sitting for a couple of years.

The fact that you had a code for the transmission range sensor and the shifter is not working then we need to make sure this issue is resolved.

The range sensor is what tells the control module what gear/position the shifter is in. If the switch is not performing properly then it will not shift. In fact it says in the material that it will inhibit 1st gear and operate in 5th gear only while in drive.

So let's run through this testing and find out what we have and we can go from there. Basically it is telling you that the TCM may need replaced.

Let me know what questions you have on this material. Thanks
