My car has made a noise when depressing the clutch pedal all the way for about two months or more. Last night while driving it felt like the clutch was slipping. Today I started it and left it to warm up, when I got back into the car to go to work the pedal felt like it was restricted and made a loud grinding noise when depressed all the way. It would go into gear, but I did not chance driving it. What could be the problem?

It sounds like the clutch disc is done, worn down to a point where it is useless now. The grinding noise was probably the gears themselves because the clutch is no longer disengaging the engine from the transmission. You have a lot of miles and are past the mileage of a clutch replacement. So if you cannot drive it any longer, it is time for it to go to the shop so they can at least diagnose whats happening exactly. The noise you are hearing when depressing the clutch pedal is the throw our bearing. It has probably gone bad as well.

Okay thank you. I will do the work myself. It will take a while since I want to do it right and will be doing endless research throughout this process. Should I replace anything else I should replace? I already plan to replace the clutch, throw out bearing, flywheel and rear main seal.

Yes, the clutch master cylinder and slave cylinder since you are already going to have it apart. They are part of the hydraulic clutch assembly, pushes the clutch fork then the throw out bearing. Hopefully it is not too much of a mess in there. If you can take off any covers underneath to inspect the clutch and see if there are any pieces of the clutch disc hanging out, you will know what happened. Hope the fix goes well for you.
