When you start the car first thing in the morning in will go in reverse just fine, but has a hard time engaging into first gear. Once it engages it shifts perfect for the rest of the day, no hard shifting or slipping of any kind just after it sits overnight. Went to a shop and they wanted to do a rebuild, about $2,500.00, just does not make sense to do that on a transmission that works perfectly 98% of the time. Saw a guy on YouYube that had similar problems and he replaced the transmission control module and it fixed it. Does anyone have any experience with anything like this?
Thanks

Hello, I am Danny.

Just curious, but have you checked the transmission for fault codes? Yes, it is getting to be these days whenever you go to a transmission shop they only offer a rebuild. Let us know if the transmission has codes and get back to us. Thanks for using 2CarPros. Danny-

No I do not have those. I was hoping the shop would check that but did not. I am going to find another place and get them to check that. I will post when I have them. Thanks for the reply!
