The car had developed a stalling problem and was throwing o2 sensor codes. While replacing the sensors I noticed the passenger side engine mount was completely broken, bolts broken off in the holes, nothing mounting the side of the engine. So to replace the mount and the bracket, I had to remove the timing covers so I decided to change the timing belt while I was in there. Replaced the belt, water pump, tensioners, and pulleys. Started her up and the car runs amazing with the new sensors, and I put new spark plugs in, but I noticed the engine was moving alot still, so I knew the other two engine mounts must be shot as well. After replacing all the mounts (which were disintegrated, im surprised the engine didnt fall out of the car going over a speed bump) the engine is solid and runs like a dream. However, since replacing all the motor mounts the transmission is acting up. The car was purchased last August and had the transmission rebuilt at 110,000km, though sometimes it was a rough shift out of first it always drove great at speed. Now as soon as the car is out of park there is a slight metal rubbing sound coming from the transmission and sometimes when the car is put in drive and the brake is released, the car with lurch or jolt forwards without acceleration. This issue has just started since replacing all the motor mounts, so im wondering if maybe the transmission mounts are bad also? It does sound like there is an internal problem, but it is interesting that the problem just began after replacing the mounts. The car still drives fine at speed and will shift though it is a bit worrying to drive (its my little sisters car). A shop quoted me $5700 for a full rebuild so im hoping that isn't required. Any advice/insight/opinions would be appreciated! Thanks

The first thing I would do is check the transmission fluid level and change it if it is burnt or dirty. Here is a guide to help with instructions in the images below for your car, also can you please upload a short video of what the car is doing so I can see it, this will help me fix it with you. I would check the transmissions mount as well because it sounds bad if the others were in bad shape then it is probably bad as well.

Use this fluid only.

ATF (Automatic Transmission Fluid) .................... Use Honda ATF

DW-1
(ATF Z1 has been replaced by ATF DW-1, Honda Service News Nov 2010)

Check out the images (below). Let me know how it goes
