Hi,
The range sensor is internal. It requires the removal of the fluid, pan, and I believe the valve body.
I attached the directions below for the removal and replacement of the range sensor. Take a look through it and let me know if you have questions.

It is doable, but it really isn't a quick or easy job for anyone. LOL If you feel confident, I suggest doing it. If you run into trouble, I'll be here to help.
