Can i replace my 2004 transmission with a 2005 transmission?

Both models use the same transmission the 5R55s. so there should not be a problem but i would contact a transmission specialist or Ford just to make sure that there is no TCM re-flash required to suit the individual transmission to be fitted. Later transmissions have strategies to be re loaded, not 100% sure if the older transmissions will require this as well.
