Transmission begins going but when it shifts to second gear it acts like it goes into limp mode?

We bought a car from someone, and they could not get it to run. I got it running but it will not shift out. When put in drive you can begin going but when it shifts to second gear it acts like it goes into limp mode. The key for the car is also not a good key and we are waiting on a replacement because the dealership said that the key was bad. Would that possibly make it not shift? That was just a thought. What do you think I could do to it so it would shift out?

This sounds like the input shaft speed sensor is not working. To be sure let's run the codes to see what comes up. This guide will help, and I have included the sensor location in case you need it in the images below.
