2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 ltz 5.3l 4wd 4l65e transmission. Won't move at all. Replaced transmission. The transfer case was stuck in neutral. Finally got it to manually go into gear. After putting everything back in truck, discovered the shaft in transfer case and shaft in transmission are not connecting like that should. They barely touch. Can't afford new tc. Can I either change the shaft in transfer case to make it longer or can I change adapter housing to one about 2-3"thick instead of 4" thick? Or what options do I have to fix this problem that doesn't cost too much

There is not another input shaft for the transfer case, it sounds like the output shaft for the transmission is incorrect. Can you upload load images of the issue so I can see? Also, when you put the truck in gear and then in park do you hear a grinding noise? If so the transmission is not connected to the transfer case. I short video of the issue would help me see what is going on as well. Ken
