will not engage transfer case in any position

Truck when shut down shifted transfer case into neutral, will not engage transfer case in any position. Neutral light is on at the dash switch for the 4x4.

Hello,

This sounds like the transfer case encoder has gone bad, but lets check the fuses #8 and #20 first. Here is a wiring diagrams for the transfer case so you can see how the system works:
