I have a e-150 van. I noticed that there was a leak stain coming from under the van. So I took a look and there was a good side leak coming from the C6 shifter shaft seal area. Can you tell me if that is a big job replacing the seal. Does the pan need to be removed and what else? Any help would be greatly appreciated, and pictures if there are any.

Thank you,
Mark

Good evening.

Not a big job at all.

Remove the linkage from the shift to the transmission.
Remove the neutral safety switch from the transmission. Make sure you mark the exact location so when you install it will start in park and neutral.

Use a small pick to dig into the seal and remove it. It will take a bit of time but it will come out.
Install with a deep well socket that fits perfectly around the seal and tap it in.
