Tramission not going into reverse when engine is cool

After changing the drive shaft of my car yesterday, while my engine is cool it does not go into reverse. I have to put on drive before going to reverse for it to work.

Good morning.

Did you check the transmission level?

I would start by changing the oil/filter in the transmission. It may be dirt in the filter.
