Hey, my trac control light comes on. It's been really snowy lately. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.. When it comes on I just turn it off and it seems fine. Any information? Thanks, Don

Good morning,

The trac light is for traction control. It indicates a fault in the system. It is part of the ABS system.

When this happens, is it when the wheels are spinning if you are in snow or just normal driving?

I would go to a parts store and have them read any codes.

Okay, when the wheels spin, the system will activate and the light tells you it is operating. You notice it limits the speed to try to slow down the spinning.

You can disable it by pressing the button.

Sounds like the system is working correctly.

I do have another spot that lights up and tells me it's active and goes back out. That's where the trip and odometer is. This other light is up to the far right it's red comes on and says trac off. Sorry I didn't explain well enough.

That is the one that comes on when you turn the trac control off. But it's coming on for no reason. And has to be turned off.

From what I've been reading it could be snow and grime on speed sensor.

Okay, then there is a code set and needs to be checked.

Have the car scanned for any codes. You can get it done at a parts store.
