I think the throttle position sensor needs to be replaced from what I read online ABS what's happening but the auto store tells me the whole throttle body has to be replaced and then aligned. Is this true?

Hi,

On some models, the TPS is not serviceable and requires the replacement of the throttle body. On the other hand, there are some with the TPS mounted on the throttle body and can be serviced.

I attached a general picture of a throttle body found on some of these vehicle. I circled where the TPS is located.

I need to know what size 4 cylinder engine you have. If you look at pic 2, those are the options for this vehicle.

Let me know which engine you have and what trouble codes are being identified. Hopefully, it is something other than the TPS.

Take care,
Joe

I'll get back k to you with info soon. There's no code it is not accelerating like it should, it jerks a little when taking off, it shakes a little, ABS runs rough. I was just starting with the TPS because dealership didn't get a code either and from reading online it could be that so that's what I was going to start with.

Hi,

Let me know what you find out. Also, you mention the ABS. That stands for antilock brakes. I'm not seeing a correlation. Are there brake issues as well?

Let me know. Please feel free to ask questions if you have them. That's why I'm here.

Take care,
Joe
