The trucks frame was bad so I had it replaced. When I got it back the AC did not work anymore. It worked fine before it was worked on. If there is no freon in it will the compressor come on, or is the compressor gone bad. Not sure what is going on.

As you know, this is an extreme amount of work to accomplish, so it's not unheard of to have minor problems after a job like that! Take it back and have the shop repair it, it's their problem! They would have to call you a liar in order to try to wiggle off this hook, If the A/C is discharged, the compressor should NOT run! Pressure switch would have to be bypassed to star the compressor, this would ruin the compressor!

Thanks for the reply. I can't go back to the guy he started another job with another company. Could I just add freon and hope that it fixes the problem?

Yes if the freon wasn't recharged, your compressor would not run. I recommend paying the 80. Dollars to have an A/C shop use a charging station to do it, result is much better.
