2000 Toyota Solara Fuel Gauge

The problem is that the car will go out and turn off at the last quarter line on the fuel gauge. I have seen it happen to my mother twice already. When I first brought the car a year it worked fine until the fuel gauge line hitted the last quarter and showed the refuel light on the dash. I don't know what the problem is but I was wonder if any leads that you guys might know.

Anytime you run the fuel tank below 1/4 tank it is extremely hard on the fuel pump. Assuming you have driven the vehicle with 1/4 tank or less several times, the most likely culprit would be a failing fuel pump

Ok so changing the fuel pump will fix the issue?

That is the most likely culprit, yes.
